Biography

I was Born in Baghdad, Iraq. I finished my high school in 1965 and then continued my education for 3 years at the Institute of High Cinema And Theater.

I became a professional singer in 1967 with performances on Iraqi TV and radio. All of my music has been composed and directed by me. I started working in general management with Cinema and theater as a professional singer with the Rasheed Team. This team belonged to the ministry of education and knowledge. In 1968, I traveled with the Rasheed team to Kuwait where I sang on Kuwaiti Tv for my debut performance with the Rasheed team.

I was one of the founders and committee members of the Christianity society of Artists In Iraq. I sung in many of the Assyrian clubs in Baghdad,Mosul, Kirkuk, and Basra. I had many performances with the well known singer Edward Yousif also known just as BEBA. I also had many solo performances on Iraqi TV and radio.

In 1970, I traveled to England, to see all the beauty London had to offer. Although, ultimately I decided to return home within 45 days. At this time I transferred departments with the Cinema And theater Institute to start my new role as a film editor. I worked there for two years then transferred to the television department for Iraqi TV to do all the editing work for news as the department Director. I sang with many Iraqi, Lebanese, and Syrian professional singers. In 1969, I sang in the Spring Conference in Mosul, with the Rasheed Team. In 1973, I decided to travel to Lebanon, Beirut. When I was there I was greeted by the Zodo family where they managed all activities, performances, and entertainment for me.

The main manager was Eskander Zodo. I recorded my debut album in Lebanon with the hit song Ahela Yoni. After my album release Eskander Zodo arranged for monthly performances in Lebanon. In October 1974, I traveled to the Unites States Of America for the very first time. I was greeted and welcomed by all the Assyrian clubs in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit. I performed for all these clubs during my visit in the states.

I also sang with many other professional Assyrian singers. I decided to Make Chicago, Illinois my new home. Here is where i became one of the founders and committee members of the United Assyrian Artists. I was also a committee member of the Assyrian Friendship Unity Group. In 1978, I was invited to Baghdad by an Assyrian Club where I had many performances. This is when I returned to Chicago, with my Fiance at the time and now wife Athina.

I was invited to a lot of countries to hold singing performances such as Australia, Lebanon, Germany, Holland, Canada, and Dubai. Ultimately, I had to slow my role as a professional singer in 1981 since I started a family and opened a car dealership in Chicago, Illinois. I still managed to make performances in and out of the United States. In 2014, I returned to Iraq after being invited to perform in Northern Iraq and Baghdad. In 2017 I returned to Australia by invitation from Saint Mar Zaia organization to have a performance. I have also been invited back by the same organization to have a performance in September 2018. I am currently ready to entertain any occasion by special request.
