Biography

Shamiram Issabey was born in Iran and migrated to America, she was a trained classical singer who had studied under several instructors, including Assyrian Composer Rabi. William Daniel.  She eventually joined the Nineveh Choir, where she met and married the Assyrian Composer Mr. Nebu Issabey.  Their son, Tiglat Issabey, is currently the President of the Assyrian Cultural Foundation and the founder of its music program.

Her first song was released in 1961 in collaboration with Mrs Lili Oraham Taimoorazi and their: Shamiram Dance Group. The song was featured on a four track EP, lyrics by Lili Taimoorazi and Melody listed as Folk.  

In 1966 she released her first single record featuring two tracks (1-Talibota & 2-Palget Leleh), both lyrics written by the late Simon Amirkhas, and melody by Misha Ashourian.
