Biography

Born and still reside in Syria, from the village of Leyonayeh, Tel Kefji, as young child fell in love with music and learned to play on a string instrument called “Jambash” similar to Baglama when he was only ten years old.

Later concentrated on learning to play the Ud. He enrolled in the Cultural Center of Folk Arts in the province of Hasaka when he was 15 years old, where he studied music for year and a half on the eastern instruments: Lute and Violin, at the hands of the great teacher Khalaf Al Husseini.

He released about seven albums, starting from 1985 and recently released few singles and instrumental pieces. Beside composing music for his own albums, he also composed music for the likes of Sargon Gabriel, Geliana Esho, Ashtar Nano. He also wrote lyrics to singers like the late Amanuel Iskander, Amir Moushe and Josephine Gewargis, to name few.
