Shlimon Bet-Shmuel has conquered uncharted territory in the field of composition in Assyrian music. His love of the homeland, Mesopotamia, known today as Iraq, gave him from his early years the inspiration to write, perform and make history through music. The lyrics and sounds are a mixture of poetry, Assyrian folklore, traditional music and modern instruments. His purpose is to tell the story of the ancient Assyrian people; the love, pride and respect for his homeland combined with the feelings of hope brought by extraordinary changes in his beloved nation.

Bet-Shmuel demonstrates his feelings of love and admiration for his country by depicting the precious values of the simple ancient life dating back to biblical times and the relationship to the child who will become man and defend his nation. Bet-Shmuel's songs express the spirit of a proud people who now have the opportunity to build a foundation for the future based on the values of a simple life that is pure and unblemished. This collection is another step in building the foundation for a new Assyrian national school of musical composition.
