Hermis A. Yousif is a renowned Assyrian nationalist, poet and activist. Born in the city of Kerkuk in Iraq, and currently residing in Chicago, Ill. , Mr. Hermis Yousif has been active in Assyrian literature-mainly poems-for decades now.
He was one of the early activists to help raise a better awareness of Assyrian nationalism in Iraq and to this day, his contributions to the Assyrian cause and plight are well-known. His latest album, a dedication to the martyrs of Zowaa and our nation, has two CDs and a total of 19 poems, each coupled with special orchestra music.
